Development Technician IV (Contract) – Aerospace & Advanced Systems Testing Join a High-Impact Engineering Team
We are seeking an experienced Development Technician IV to support the integration, testing, assembly, and validation of advanced aerospace and electronic systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting skills, experience working with complex electronic hardware, and a passion for delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced engineering environment.

As a key member of the team, you will contribute to critical development and production activities while working alongside engineers, program teams, and technical specialists.
Key Responsibilities Integration & Test
  • Lead box-level integration activities, PWA testing, and ESTE/GSE certification efforts.
  • Perform environmental testing, including vibration, thermal, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing.
  • Conduct power-on verification, operational system validation, post-delivery support activities, and complex rack configuration modifications.
  • Execute detailed test procedures and perform component-level troubleshooting.
  • Serve as a test conductor, utilizing software scripts to command hardware and monitor telemetry data.
  • Use Digital Multimeters (DMMs) and Cirris testers to verify cable assemblies and continuity.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain test cables with minimal supervision.
Assembly & Hardware Fabrication
  • Fabricate, assemble, rework, and repair flight and EDU hardware, including PWAs, cable assemblies, chassis, and rack systems.
  • Work in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-610/620 Space Addendums and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Interpret complex electrical schematics, wire lists, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Accurately document engineering updates and "red-line" changes.
  • Maintain strict compliance with ESD, safety, tool control, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) requirements.
Project & Technical Support
  • Measure, record, and analyze test data while identifying and reporting out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Support project objectives by balancing quality, schedule, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Prepare detailed daily and weekly status reports highlighting accomplishments, risks, roadblocks, and project progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful program execution.
  • Maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and productive team environment.
  • Perform additional technical duties as required.
Required Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus 3+ years of related technical experience.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field may substitute for up to two years of experience per degree.
  • Degree substitution must be from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Technical Skills
  • Expert-level experience using:
    • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
    • Digital oscilloscopes
    • Function generators
    • Programmable power supplies
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Analog electronics
    • Digital electronics
    • Power electronics
    • FPGA-based systems
  • Experience fabricating, assembling, and reworking cables, chassis, 19-inch racks, test equipment, and related hardware in development or production environments.
  • Familiarity with aerospace assembly practices and flight hardware handling requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Professional Skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with engineers, technicians, management, and program stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position requiring in-person attendance five days per week at the primary work location. Occasional travel or local commuting between facilities and other work locations may be required.

Work may be performed in:

  • Cleanrooms
  • Production and manufacturing environments
  • Office settings
  • Outdoor or remote research locations

The position may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and access to facilities in varying weather conditions.
