Pay Information
Hourly Range: $35.07/hr-$45.39/hr
What You'll Do:
• Perform the following tasks utilizing engineering drawings, test procedures, and work instructions: • Perform box-level integration, ESTE/GSE certifications, vibration testing, thermal testing, TVAC testing, PWAtesting, post-delivery activities, troubleshooting, rack configuration changes, and setup and execution of various test procedures. • Perform DMM continuity checks and Cirrist testing on a variety of cable assemblies. • Assemble flight/EDU hardware (PWA sandbox-level) meeting IPC/WHMA-A-610 Space Addendum, J-STD-001, or like standards. • Assemble test cables and ESTE/GSE meeting IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum, J-STD-001, or like standards. • Identify and troubleshoot hardware problems associated with product design or workmanship issues. • Execute standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements for electronic hardware testing. • Conduct assignments and produce desired results in an efficient and effective manner, paying close attention to cost, schedule, and consideration for manufacturability and reuse of hardware. • Measure/record test data and recognize/report out of tolerance conditions. • Mate/demate various types of connector interfaces. • Perform continuity checks on wiring, connectors, and components where required. • Perform power-on and operation systems checks. • Perform installation and troubleshooting of test cable with minimum supervision. • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days a week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors, or remote research environment. • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years or more of related experience.
Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, U.S. Department of Education.
In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibits skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered.
Proficiency in using test instruments such as DMMs, digital oscilloscopes, function generators, programmable powers supplies, and ability to operate various types of test software.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical installation/manufacturing engineering drawings, schematics, wire lists, and familiar with documenting redline changes to the engineering drawings with minimum supervision.
Proficiency in testing complex PWA sandbox-level flight/EDU hardware.
Proficiency in fabricating and working hardware in either production or development settings using build documents and assembly drawings (e.g., cables, chassis, 19" rack assemblies, test aids, etc.).
Ability to generate daily/weekly status updates informing programs of work accomplished, roadblocks, remaining items to complete, and expected completion timeframe(s).
Ability to operate as a test conductor using software/test scripts for sending commands and monitoring telemetry.
Ability to complete required training and maintain internal certifications.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company; interact with others in order to create a positive and productive work environment.
Experienced in ESD, safety, and flight hardware handling protocols.
Must possess theoretical knowledge and understanding of electrical, digital, analog, power, and FPGA electronics.
Must possess comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, etc.).
Must possess normal color vision; sight correction to 20/20.
Must possess effective written, verbal, and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of program personnel and management is required.
Must be able to test and troubleshoot down to the component level.
Must be able to comply with all safety standards.
Must be able to comply with tool control and FOD procedures.
