Job Title: Technician

Under direct supervision, the Vehicle Test Technician will support engineering efforts by performing routine vehicle maintenance, setting up and executing dynamometer tests, and compiling test documentation. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle maintenance to prepare for testing.
• Set up and conduct driving tests on a dynamometer.
• Assemble and submit documentation packets from testing.
• Conduct routine tests and follow standard test modes.
• Use mechanical and fabrication tools appropriately.
• Perform minor/light fabrication and change vehicle part assemblies.
• Learn and consistently apply proper testing procedures.
• Work under direct supervision while managing daily tasks.

Essential Skills

• Automotive Technician experience.
• Mechanical assembly skills.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Vehicle maintenance expertise.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
• Comfort using computers for equipment control and report assembly.
• Ability to consistently execute driving tests.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Vocational certificate or Associate's Degree in a related field. (preferred)
• Experience with dynamometer testing (not required, but beneficial).
• Light fabrication skills and mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment

The work environment involves hands-on tasks that require the use of mechanical and fabrication tools. The role includes setting up and executing tests using a dynamometer. The technician will work under direct supervision and should be comfortable using computers for equipment control and report assembly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
