Job Title: Technician, Pharmacy

Division: Ambulatory Operations

Work Arrangement: Onsite only

Location: Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX

Salary Range: $52,109 to $61,304

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

This position performs daily mixing of drugs. Orders and maintains drug inventory and supplies. Performs other clerical/administrative functions as necessary in the pharmacy.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be able to work in a fast paced environment, and must be able to stand for long periods of time to mix medication.

This position is located at our McNair Campus.

Job Duties

  • Collaborates with the pharmacists, nurses, and administrative staff on a daily basis.
  • Completes inventory processes including ordering, restocking, and removing expired medications.
  • Performs medication compounding and mixing per label instructions.
  • Answers phones and delivers medications to nursing in a timely manner.
  • Follows all Baylor Medicine Pharmacy policies and procedures as directed.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order in the pharmacy.
  • Performs all other assigned task.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

Preferred Qualifications

  • IV Certification.
