Job Summary
Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services while considering patient-specific factors. This could be through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution, and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collection, assembly, and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
• May practices the Medication-Use Process • Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges, credits, and disposes of medication safely and accurately. • Manages own pharmacy practice effectively. • May participates in inventory management. • May use and maintain automation equipment. • Provides education and training as appropriate. • May be involved in processing and preparing sterile products for dispensing. • Contributes to goals, programs, and report cards for operational unit and entity. • Completes assigned goals.
Specifications
Experience
Description Minimum Required Advanced competencies in any of the following:
Preferred Desired Experience with Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. One year hospital experience.
Education
Description Minimum Required Skills in communicating clearly and effectively, use of standard English in written, oral, and verbal format. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Preferred Desired Technician training program, academy
Special Skills
Description Minimum Required Preferred Desired Licensure PTCB certification required registration with the state board of pharmacy
Reporting Relationships
Does this position formally supervise employees? If set to YES, then this position has the authority delegated to hire, terminate, discipline, promote, or effectively recommend such to manager.
