WJBF NewsChannel 6-the #1 television station in Augusta and part of Nexstar Media Group, one of the nation's largest media companies-is hiring Part-Time Seasonal Production Techs to join our award-winning remote production team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in live broadcast production in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload production equipment at each remote location
- Run and secure audio and video cables between cameras and the production trailer
- Take direction from the director and other technical crew during live broadcasts
- Assist with camera operations: positions may be on the field (handheld camera) or atop the press box (tripod-mounted)
- May be assigned to support audio setup, monitoring, or live graphics
- Travel with the crew using station vehicles to different high school football stadiums each Friday
- Work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
Requirements:
- Must be available every Friday from August 7th through November 6th
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs of equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors and at various locations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction in high-pressure environments
- Punctual, dependable, and a team player
- Prior production or event experience is a plus, but not required-training provided
Additional Details:
- Approx. 12-15 hours each Friday
- Transportation to/from each location is provided by the station
