    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Technician Specialist supports Trinity Health's information systems by delivering hands-on technical assistance and maintaining reliable hardware and software functionality across the organization. This role works directly with end users to troubleshootissues, implement effective solutions, and support system upgrades and special projects that enhance daily operations. As part of a collaborative IT support environment, the Technician Specialist helps ensure data protection, asset management, and adherence to organizational technology standards. Through responsive customer service, clear communication, and effective problem-solving, this position contributes to secure, dependable technology services that support departments and care delivery throughout Trinity Health.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide technical support for end users by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving software, hardware, and network-related issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.
    • Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and approved software applications in alignment with organizational standards.
    • Assist with data protection, asset tracking, and system security processes to ensure compliance with established IT policies and procedures.
    • Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and special technology projects, contributing technical expertise and documenting relevant changes.
    • Collaborate with IT team members and departmental stakeholders to identify recurring issues, recommend improvements, and enhance overall system performance.
    • Maintain accurate service records, track support requests, and communicate updates with clarity to users and team members.
    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    • None
    Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Associate's Degree in Systems Technology or equivalent work experience.
    Experience Requirements:
    • 3+ years of support of systems in troubleshooting, design, and installation of IT related systems.
    Special Skills or Training Requirements:
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, comfortable presenting ideas and concepts.
    • The ability to exhibit a high degree of patience for inexperienced computer/technology users is required.
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
    • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask.
    • Must be self motivated and driven.
    • Ability to problem solve and learn quickly.
    • Demonstrate professionalism in communication and the office environment.
    • Must be coachable and easily receive feedback.

    Physical Requirements:

    The Technician Specialist is regularly required to sit or stand while performing computer-based work and to move between workstations, offices, and technical areas. The role may involve lifting, carrying, or positioning equipment such as computers, monitors, and peripherals, typically up to moderate weight levels. Adequate vision, hearing, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills are needed to work with electronic components, troubleshoot devices, and communicate effectively with end users.

    Environmental Requirements:

    Work is primarily performed in an office and technical support environment with frequent interaction in clinical and administrative settings. The role may involve exposure to noise from equipment, variations in temperature when working in server or equipment rooms, and occasional travel between sites. Adherence to organizational safety practices, secure handling of technology assets, and protection of confidential information is essential. The position may require adjusting to varying workloads, urgent support requests, and system-related deadlines.
