Technician - Survey

Job Purpose:

• The Survey Field Technician is responsible for conducting precise and accurate land surveys to support engineering and construction projects. This role involves utilizing advanced surveying equipment and techniques to collect, analyze, and interpret data, ensuring that all surveying activities are conducted in compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys and measurements using a variety of surveying instruments and tools.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine survey requirements and objectives.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records, maps, and reports of survey data.
• Analyze survey data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of survey drawings and documents for project planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all surveying activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior survey staff as needed.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders regarding survey findings and project progress.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field preferred.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in land surveying or a related field.
• Experience with survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Familiarity with survey software and CAD applications.

• Strong understanding of survey principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
