General Definition of Work
The transportation quality support technician, under general supervision, performs clerical work with minimal decision-making discretion providing transportation-specific information and quality customer service to district staff, parents, and the public. Position assists the area office with daily operational tasks including research, analysis, and response to customers' transportation questions, issues, and concerns within established local, state and federal laws and guidelines. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Area Transportation Manager.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Ensure daily operations coverage as well as communicating information to internal and external customers
- Provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive information to parents, district staff, and other members of the general public
- Absorb and translate complex information quickly and share it accurately with members of the public in a manner that is easy to understand
- Assist with the data collection for GPS software as well as any other technology used within the department
- Serve as a conduit between the CMS transportation department and the general public
- Maintain records and prepare reports
- Perform related work as assigned or required
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
