Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is critical for leading our infrastructure provisioning efforts, providing advanced technical support, resolving complex issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our GCP environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of GCP services, a strong background in infrastructure as code using Terraform, excellent problem-solving skills, and proven leadership abilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering roles.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with core GCP services.
• Proven experience in a leadership or technical lead role.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Expert proficiency in Terraform for provisioning and managing GCP infrastructure.
• Strong experience with creating, managing, and versioning Terraform modules and state.
• Strong proficiency in GCP services (e.g., Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, GKE, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience with other automation tools like Ansible is beneficial.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Develop and manage a library of reusable Terraform modules to ensure consistent, reliable, and scalable infrastructure provisioning.
• Automate the deployment, configuration, and management of GCP resources to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Provide L2/L3 support for all aspects of the GCP environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues related to networking, security, and application hosting.
• Lead and mentor a team of support engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Manage and resolve incidents and problems in a timely manner.
• Monitor GCP environments to ensure optimal performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security.
