Responsibilities:
Work Template Development
• Design and build reusable work templates in ERP for commonly requested customer jobs
• Structure templates into logical sections such as:
o Cover pages
o Body pages
o Assembly/finishing sections
• Ensure templates support consistent, accurate, and efficient estimate generation
Print Workflow & Process Knowledge
• Apply understanding of print production processes including:
o Up-on-sheet configurations
o Single vs. double-sided printing
o Bleeds, layouts, imposition
• Translate workflow steps into ERP-based template structures
• Ensure alignment between production reality and system configuration
Materials & Finishing Expertise
• Understand and apply knowledge of:
o Paper stocks (type, weight, finish)
o Binding, cutting, coating, and finishing options
• Incorporate these variables into templates for accurate costing and job setup
ERP Configuration & Setup
• Build and configure templates directly within the ERP system
• Maintain template accuracy, version control, and updates
• Partner with operations and IT teams for system enhancements and optimization
Estimation Enablement
• Enable users (estimators, project managers) to:
o Quickly generate estimates using templates
o Customize templates when required for unique jobs
• Ensure templates reduce manual work and minimize estimation errors
Continuous Improvement (PDCA Approach)
• Analyze estimation accuracy and production feedback
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or errors in templates
• Continuously refine and improve templates using a structured approach (Plan–Do–Check–Act)
Core Workflow Knowledge (Expected Capability)
The resource should be able to perform and guide the following:
Template Creation Process
• Setting up work templates
• Adding sections (e.g., cover page, body pages, assembly)
• Defining section details (page specs, materials, layout)
Production Configuration
• Assigning appropriate press from press pool
• Assigning tasks (print, finishing, assembly)
Template Usage
• Applying templates during estimate creation
• Adjusting templates based on job requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical / Functional
• Strong understanding of print production workflows
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Avanti or similar)
• Experience with job costing, estimating, or production planning
Operational
• Knowledge of end-to-end print process and job lifecycle
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and convert into production workflows
Analytical
• Strong attention to detail in cost, process, and workflow mapping
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and standardize processes
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in print operations, commercial print, or digital production environments is a plus
• Experience with workflow systems
