Overview

The Opportunity:

 

The Technology Asset Manager oversees the lifecycle management of an organization's technology assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and related services, to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and operational effectiveness. You will manage asset inventory tracking, utilization, maintenance, renewals, and disposal while partnering with IT, finance, procurement, security, and business teams to align technology investments with organizational needs. The Technology Asset Manager also analyzes asset data and usage trends, supports budgeting and forecasting, ensures compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements, and drives process improvements to optimize asset performance, reduce risk, and maximize return on technology investments.

 

The Day-to-Day:

  • In partnership with Procurement and IT management, manage the full lifecycle of technology assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and disposal
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware, software, licenses, and related technology assets
  • Monitor software license compliance and coordinate renewals to minimize risk and avoid overspending
  • Partner with IT, procurement, finance, security, and vendors to support technology asset planning and governance
  • Analyze asset utilization and cost data to identify optimization, standardization, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop and maintain asset management policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking related to technology assets and contracts
  • Assist management and Procurement with vendor relationships, including contract tracking, service reviews, and performance monitoring
  • Oversee asset disposal processes to ensure data security and environmental compliance
  • Create reports, dashboards, and metrics related to asset inventory, lifecycle status, costs, and compliance
  • Lead or support process improvement programs and technology asset management projects
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on asset management processes and best practices

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), procurement, IT operations, or related discipline
  • Experience with hardware, software, and cloud asset lifecycle management
  • Experience with software licensing models, compliance requirements, and vendor contract management
  • Proficiency with ITSM and asset management tools, such as ServiceNow
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting, data analysis, and Excel or similar tools
  • Knowledge of IT governance, audit processes, and regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed environments (IT, finance, procurement, and operations)
  • Manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager), CHAMP (Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional), or ServiceNow certifications are preferred.

Compensation:

  • $100,000 - $150,000 base salary per year in the state of WA. New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience
  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
