JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Technology Coordinator provides leadership, management, and support for instructional technology initiatives, educational software systems, student information systems, and technology integration across the district. This position collaborates with district administrators, teachers, curriculum leaders, vendors, and technology staff to ensure technology resources effectively support teaching, learning, and operational goals. The Technology Coordinator oversees educational technology programs, software evaluation and compliance, student information system functionality, professional development planning, and data analysis to maximize the effectiveness and return on investment of district technology resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Technology Leadership
? Collaborate with district and site stakeholders to assess instructional technology needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
? Lead the evaluation, implementation, rollout, and ongoing management of
educational technology programs and platforms.
? Support technology integration initiatives and provide consultation to teachers and administrators regarding effective instructional technology practices.
? Stay informed about emerging trends, research, and best practices in educational technology and technology integration.
? Conduct evaluations to measure the impact and effectiveness of instructional technology initiatives.
? Maintain documentation of technology resources, procedures, and best practices. ? Prepare reports and presentations regarding technology implementation, usage, and outcomes.
Educational Software and Digital Resource Management
? Manage district educational technology subscriptions, licenses, and digital resources.
? Review, approve, or deny software purchase requests in collaboration with district stakeholders.
? Maintain district educational software inventory and oversee software lifecycle management.
? Manage district Lumio accounts, licensing, and SMART remote management systems.
? Maintain district technology bookmark pages and digital resource portals. ? Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and select technology solutions and services.
? Monitor educational software usage and effectiveness to ensure alignment with instructional goals.
Technology Compliance and Data Privacy
? Review vendor privacy policies, data-sharing agreements, and terms of service. ? Evaluate educational technology products for compliance with federal, state, and district data privacy requirements.
? Assess student data protection, cybersecurity practices, and age-appropriate usage requirements.
? Ensure compliance with E-Rate Digital Citizenship requirements at all district sites. ? Coordinate annual updates to district technology plans and compliance documentation, including:
? Annual ASR updates
? Annual RUA updates
? Board Policy DHA revisions as needed
? Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) updates and pricing revisions Data Analysis and Technology Resource Evaluation
? Analyze data from educational systems including Canvas, Seesaw, Google Workspace, Digital Insights, and other district platforms.
? Enter and maintain software subscription data for all district sites and district-wide services.
? Generate and analyze software usage reports to support decision-making. ? Provide information regarding software licensing costs, cost per student, and cost per license.
? Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of educational technologies by considering: ? Initial acquisition costs
? Licensing and maintenance expenses
? Training and support requirements
? Scalability and sustainability
? Impact on teaching and learning outcomes
? Develop processes for ongoing evaluation of technology investments and resource allocation.
Student Information System Roles
? Maintain grading windows and grading procedures.
? Manage canned comments and gradebook configurations.
? Support grade management processes, including post-grading corrections and issue resolution.
? Update standards, grading calculations, and grading scales annually. ? Maintain course codes, course catalogs, and course configurations. ? Ensure accurate assignment of credit types, OCAS coding, standards, and graduation requirements.
? Collaborate with curriculum, counseling, and SIS staff to develop and maintain graduation plans.
? Assist counselors with graduation plan implementation and student assignments. ? Support gradebook managers and administrators regarding grading and reporting processes.
? Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving courses, schedules, students, grades, transcripts, and reporting.
Student and Family Technology Services
? Serve as district contact for Parchment and transcript services. ? Manage hotspot inventory and services, including activations, requests, assignments, and deactivations.
? Coordinate technology-related communication with school sites and district departments.
Financial and Operational Support
? Manage InTouch fee assignments and removals related to Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) fees.
? Generate weekly reports related to technology fee collections and purchases. ? Communicate regularly with site financial secretaries and district finance personnel regarding technology-related transactions.
Curriculum and Content Review
? Collaborate with Teaching and Learning staff to evaluate websites, digital resources, and online content for alignment with district curriculum and instructional goals.
? Review educational websites and multimedia resources for instructional appropriateness and compliance with district policies.
Other Duties
? Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology.
Working Relationships
Works collaboratively with district administrators, teachers, instructional staff, information technology personnel, vendors, students, and community stakeholders to support district technology initiatives, operational effectiveness, and instructional goals.
Length of Contract: 240 contract days.
EVALUATION:
The performance of this job will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Technology in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and state law.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
? Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. ? Experience supporting educational technology systems, digital learning platforms, or instructional technology initiatives.
? Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
? Ability to provide professional learning and technical support to diverse audiences.
Preferred
? Experience with learning management systems, student information systems, and educational software integrations.
? Experience leading technology implementations and district-wide initiatives. ? Relevant educational technology certifications.
? Masters Degree
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
? Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate preferred.
