About FirstLine Schools
Founded in 1998, FirstLine Schools opened the first charter school in New Orleans. Today, we operate several PreK–8th grade schools with a mission to create and inspire great, open admissions public schools in New Orleans.

Position Summary
FirstLine Schools is seeking a dynamic Technology Lead Teacher to bring the Hello World computer science and digital literacy curriculum to life for students in grades K-8. This position combines the core responsibilities of a FirstLine teacher with leadership in tech integration and STEM innovation. The Technology Lead Teacher will design and deliver engaging, culturally responsive technology instruction while collaborating with colleagues to enhance digital learning across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
- Plan and implement high-quality technology lessons using the Hello World curriculum, focusing on coding, robotics, and digital problem-solving.
- Design lessons aligned to grade-level expectations and standards, ensuring mastery through clear objectives and assessments.
- Use checks for understanding and provide meaningful feedback to students to support their learning and critical thinking.
- Prepare students to solve complex, real-world problems with no obvious answer.
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom that maximizes instructional time.
Technology Leadership
- Serve as the school-based expert on the Hello World curriculum and associated platforms (e.g., Scratch, Python, Micro:bit, etc.).
- Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to integrate computer science and digital literacy into core academic areas.
- Lead or support technology-related extracurriculars such as coding clubs or robotics teams.
- Manage inventory of devices and materials used for technology instruction.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, STEM, or a related field
- Louisiana teacher certification (completed or in progress), or eligibility for out-of-state applicants
- Strong background in technology, computer science, or digital learning
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred
