Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

With Service Excellence as one of our core values, we are transforming the current Information Technology department to better position SCA as the industry leader in surgical care. Our IT team is focused on providing our partnerships and management teams with timely, quality technology support that meets their management and clinical needs and is reliable, helpful, and easily accessible. 
 
The Project-Program Manager provides end-to-end leadership across both individual projects and broader programs, ensuring technology initiatives are planned, executed, governed, and delivered in alignment with business objectives. In a project management capacity, this role leads assigned projects from initiation through closure by managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies. The individual partners closely with sponsors, business owners, technical teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to define objectives, success measures, deliverables, and implementation plans. They are responsible for driving day-to-day execution, maintaining project documentation, coordinating cross-functional work, removing barriers, and supporting change management, readiness, training, transition, and stabilization activities. 

 

In a program management capacity, this role manages a group of related projects or workstreams that collectively support broader business, operational, technology, or strategic outcomes. The Project-Program Manager establishes program structure, governance routines, reporting expectations, decision-making forums, and escalation paths to ensure consistent delivery and leadership visibility. They align teams and stakeholders around shared priorities, sequencing, dependencies, resource needs, risks, milestones, financial, and expected benefits. 

 

Strong communication is central to this role. The Project-Program Manager communicates clearly and professionally with sponsors, stakeholders, customers, vendors, project teams, and senior leaders. They tailor messages to the audience, translate complex information into concise and actionable updates, facilitate outcome-focused meetings, escalate risks and decisions timely, and build trust through active listening, relationship management, transparency, and consistent follow-through. 

 
Note: This position will NOT be managing resources directly 

 

Project Management Responsibilities 

  • Lead assigned projects from initiation through closure, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies are actively managed. 
  • Partner with sponsors, business owners, technical teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to define objectives, success measures, deliverables, and implementation plans. 
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, RAID logs, status updates, meeting agendas, decision logs, and other required project documentation. 
  • Drive day-to-day execution by coordinating work across cross-functional teams, removing barriers, escalating risks, and ensuring accountability for assigned actions. 
  • Monitor project health and proactively identify impacts to timeline, cost, quality, scope, and business readiness. 
  • Support change management, implementation readiness, training coordination, transition planning, and post-implementation stabilization activities. 

Program Responsibilities 

  • Manage a program or group of related projects that collectively support broader business, operational, technology, or strategic objectives. 
  • Establish program structure, governance routines, reporting expectations, decision-making forums, and escalation paths across multiple workstreams. 
  • Align project teams, sponsors, leaders, and stakeholders around shared outcomes, priorities, sequencing, dependencies, and resource needs. 
  • Track program-level risks, issues, dependencies, milestones, financials, benefits, and delivery performance to ensure overall program health. 
  • Provide leadership visibility into progress, trade-offs, constraints, decisions needed, and emerging risks that may impact business outcomes. 
  • Coach and support project managers or workstream leads to ensure consistent delivery practices, documentation standards, and stakeholder engagement. 

Communication 

  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and professionally with sponsors, stakeholders, customers, vendors, project teams, and senior leadership. 
  • Tailor communications for the audience, providing appropriate levels of detail for executive summaries, project team updates, stakeholder briefings, and operational readiness discussions. 
  • Facilitate meetings that are purposeful, organized, and outcome-focused, including clear agendas, decisions, action items, owners, and follow-up expectations. 
  • Translate complex project or program information into concise, actionable messages that help stakeholders understand progress, risks, impacts, and decisions needed. 
  • Maintain transparency by escalating risks, issues, blockers, and decision points in a timely manner, while also recommending options or mitigation plans. 
  • Build trust and alignment through active listening, relationship management, expectation setting, and consistent follow-through on commitments. 
Qualifications:

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or related field with preference of MBA. 
  • 8+ years hands on project management experience 
  • 5 or more years of experience in program management 
  • Project Management Professional certification 
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including a proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment. 
  • Proven ability to manage key stakeholders while managing competing priorities. 
  • Strong leadership skills including conflict/issue resolution. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with customers, stakeholders, and senior leadership. 
  • Ability to work effectively with project resources across multiple departments. 
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills 
  • Strong analytical and program-solving skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
     

Preferred 

  • Program management certification (PgMP)  
     

Other 

  • Between 20-25% travel may be required as necessary to meet project needs. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
Min: USD $110,000.00/Yr. Max: USD $130,000.00/Yr.
