Job Summary

The Technology Quality Technician is responsible for performing quality control inspections and testing activities to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards. This role combines hands-on inspection expertise with an understanding of quality management systems and the impact of product nonconformances on overall equipment performance and reliability.

 

Job Description

  • Perform inspections of machined metal parts, primarily tubular components measuring up to approximately 8 inches in diameter and 5 feet in length.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify dimensional accuracy and product conformity.
  • Conduct manual dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Inspect parts, materials, components, subassemblies, and equipment against established quality standards.
  • Document inspection and test results accurately and maintain quality records.
  • Identify, communicate, and document nonconformances and quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address inspection findings and improve product quality.
  • Assist with the design, setup, and execution of inspection fixtures and testing activities as needed.
  • Follow established inspection procedures, test plans, and standard work instructions.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing activities are performed safely and in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality processes and inspection methods.
  • When authorized, perform calibration activities on measurement equipment and systems.

 

Skills Required

  • 2–3 years of experience performing dimensional inspections and quality control activities.
  • Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Zeiss CMM equipment.
  • CMM programming experience.
  • Zeiss certification.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience in oil and gas manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and calibration processes

Pay Rate

  • $18 - $22 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
