Description and Requirements

Position Overview:

At the center of Lenovo's most significant technology strategy initiatives within the CTO Office, the Technology Strategy team bridges the gap between emerging technologies and business strategy. We are seeking a strategic thinker who is passionate about technology, thrives in a fast-paced and intellectually curious environment, and enjoys working across a broad range of research and engineering disciplines.

As a key member of the Technology Strategy team, you will help shape Lenovo's long-term innovation agenda by supporting strategic planning, executive decision-making, and organizational alignment across the CTO organization. Working closely with leadership and research teams, you will contribute to defining future technology investments and research priorities that drive Lenovo's competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Executive Communications

  • Develop clear, forward-looking strategic deliverables, including technology and market trend analyses, technology outlooks, strategic recommendations, and executive presentations.
  • Translate complex technical and business insights into concise, actionable content for senior leaders.
  • Ensure strategy materials are data-driven, decision-ready, and aligned with CTO organization priorities.

Technology Foresight & Long-Term Research Strategy

  • Help define Lenovo's 2-5 year technology and research focus areas, including domains such as AI models and agents, smart devices, next-generation computing platforms, component innovation, Agent Frameworks, and Agentic Operating Systems.
  • Conduct external technology and market analysis while assessing internal capabilities and competitive positioning.
  • Synthesize diverse inputs into prioritized recommendations that inform research roadmaps, investment decisions, and business group alignment.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Governance

  • Partner with R&D, engineering, product, and research teams to align strategic priorities, technical requirements, and execution plans.
  • Support governance processes and executive forums, including annual planning activities, technology brainstorming sessions, and technology committee meetings.
  • Drive clarity around decisions, ownership, action items, and follow-through across stakeholder groups.

Portfolio Management & Execution Visibility

  • Monitor progress, dependencies, risks, and key milestones for strategic technology initiatives, including flagship AI programs and emerging technology investments.
  • Identify and escalate issues proactively while facilitating cross-functional resolution.
  • Maintain leadership reporting, OKR alignment, and portfolio visibility to support informed decision-making and execution excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, technology strategy, product strategy, or a related strategic planning function.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, smart devices, semiconductor/chipset technologies, and hardware system innovation.
  • Proven ability to evaluate complex technology landscapes and develop strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working across a broad range of technology domains and rapidly learning new technical concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to assess opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including experience developing materials for senior leadership audiences.
  • Excellent collaboration and influence skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong business acumen combined with technical curiosity and strategic thinking.
