Organization Overview: Colorado Legal Services (CLS) is Colorado's statewide nonprofit legal aid program, with thirteen offices providing civil legal assistance to low-income Coloradans throughout the state. CLS provides free legal assistance in a broad variety of legal areas, including family law, public benefits, eviction defense, consumer protection, services to survivors of serious crime and human trafficking, and many others.

Position Summary: The Technology Support Intern will provide support to the whole organization by helping staff, interns, and volunteers resolve IT issues. The intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while providing an essential service.

Essential Duties:

Respond to staff queries in a timely and accurate way, via a ticketing system, email, phone, chat or by providing help in person

Help with installing and configuring computer systems and applications when requested by IT and Innovation team members

Troubleshoot desktop environments running Microsoft Windows operating systems

Resolve issues related to software, computer, and network connectivity

Analyze, report and fix hardware malfunctions

Help individuals use specific software and software features

Work with Information Technology & Innovation staff and others to create training resources

Assist with technology trainings

Share feature requests and effective workarounds with IT and Innovation team members

Effectively document and share work product

Submit articles to publish in the IT and Innovation Knowledgebase and/or monthly Tech Tips newsletter

Communicate effectively with staff, interns, and volunteers

Assist with tasks related to development of a statewide website such as uploading and formatting site content

Required Qualifications:

Interest in developing skills in tech support

Strong drive to solve problems

Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Time management skills and ability to work with deadlines

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow security protocols

Eagerness to learn and explore core and innovative technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with customer service

Experience using remote support tools

Experience with Office 365 applications

Location: This position can be housed in the Colorado Springs or Denver office.

Time commitment: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week.

Compensation: The position is unpaid but is open to receiving other work study funds that are student generated. Students may apply for course credit through their Externship Program.
