    Description

    A Technology Teacher responsible for teaching Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses provides engaging, hands-on instruction that develops students' skills in engineering, computer science, design, and technology. The teacher fosters innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world application of STEM concepts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver PLTW curriculum aligned with program requirements and learning standards.
    • Design and facilitate project-based learning experiences that promote student engagement and inquiry.
    • Teach concepts related to engineering design, computer science, automation, robotics, and emerging technologies, as applicable.
    • Integrate technology tools, software, and equipment into daily instruction.
    • Assess student learning through projects, presentations, performance tasks, and other formative and summative assessments.
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive laboratory/classroom environment.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, administrators, and industry partners to support student success.
    • Encourage creativity, teamwork, communication, and career readiness skills.
    • Participate in PLTW professional development and maintain program certification requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Valid teaching certification in Technology Education, STEM, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of PLTW curriculum and project-based learning methodologies.
    • Experience using engineering design processes, coding platforms, robotics systems, and other technology-related tools.
    • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and preparing students for college and career pathways in STEM fields.
