TEEN CENTER/ KIDS NIGHT OUT PROGRAM STAFF

Salary Range: $17.37 to $28.95/hour depending on experience.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefitted position; 15-20 hours per week (not to exceed 950 hours per fiscal year); predominantly afternoon/early evening schedule with some weekends and concurrent with the school year. Applicant must be at least 15 years of age and up to apply.

SUPERVISION

General supervision received from the Program Coordinators. May exercise supervision of other staff depending on position.

GENERAL DUTIES

Responsible for general oversight of and ensuring the safety of the after-school youth programming. Specific responsibilities to include:

• Organize and execute a variety of daily and weekly activities for participants ranging in ages 5 -14 including art, crafts, and games
• Mentor and role model, strive to inspire and guide participants towards their full potential
• Maintain accurate attendance records on a daily and weekly basis
• Effectively facilitate and/or lead small and large groups of youth.
• Communicate effectively with participants, co-workers, parents, and supervisors
• Willing and available to work flexible hours as needed.
• Plan and execute duties related to special interest classes, school-year and seasonal programs, and special events.
• Serve as a role model and advocate for youth.
• Communicate effectively with youth and their parents.
• Attend monthly on-site staff meeting

Middle School (Teen Centers)

Our Teen Centers provide a secure and entertaining atmosphere for middle school students to spend their after-school hours. The centers are furnished with game consoles, sports equipment, board games, and other amusing activities. We operate on early release days and select non-school days, but we are closed during holidays.

Charlotte Wood Middle School:

Mon-Fri, 2:30-5:45pm

Diablo Vista Middle School:

Mon-Fri, 2:30-5:45pm

Los Cerros Middle School:

Mon, Tues, Thu - 3:00-5:45pm, Wed - 2:15-5:45pm, Fri - 1:15-5:45pm

Minimum Days for all Locations:

11:15am-4:30pm

Kids' Night Out and Kids' Day Out Programs

GENERAL DUTIES

Under the general supervision of the Youth Program Coordinator, Youth Services staff is responsible for supervision and safety within the bi-monthly Kids' Night Out and Kids Day Out Program, including implementing a variety of crafts, games and activities for youth ages 5 to 11. As a Youth Services staff member, you will:

• Gain experience leading arts, crafts, games, and activities;
• Serve as a mentor and role model to youth;
• Learn to work as part of a team and lead activities;
• Acquire skills to safely and appropriately supervise youth in a staff-to-youth ratio environment.
• Assist with recreation pop ups and special events
• Other duties as assigned

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prior to the start of employment, applicants must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States, current (negative) TB test results, and successfully pass a background check (LiveScan).
