Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
The Teen Program Instructor supports Hidden Creek Community Centers Ohana Teen Night program, held Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This role plans and leads recreational activities, builds positive relationships with participants, and helps create an inclusive environment where teens feel safe, respected, and engaged. The program operates during the school year, beginning September 11, 2026 and continuing through May 15, 2027. This is a hands-on, community-centered role where your presence directly shapes a positive weekly experience for local teens.
What Youll Be Doing:
Weekly Teen Night Programming: Plan and deliver engaging Friday night activities for teens in grades 7-12 that rotates between creative, physical, and social experiences. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Communicate effectively with participants, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
Activity Setup & Reset: Prepare and restore program spaces to ensure safe, welcoming environments each week.
Active Youth Engagement: Participate directly in games, projects, and conversations with teen participants to encourage engagement and connection. Lead activities such as arts and crafts, sports, group games, theater, video games, tabletop games, and other interest-based programming. Support and mentor participants in the Teen Leader Program, helping youth develop leadership skills, take ownership of activities, and contribute to an inclusive program culture.
Behavior & Facility Support: Monitor program areas to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere while creating a welcoming environment that reflects the diversity of our community. Follow established safety procedures and respond appropriately to incidents and concerns.

Bilingual Incentive Pay Available
Employees who can demonstrate the ability to speak Spanish, ASL, or any other language spoken by over 10% of the City residents as documented by the most recent U.S. Census, will receive a monthly 3% premium pay. The incentive is only paid on hours in paid status. Proficiency will be determined by a City-administered test.
