Teen Takeover Committee Volunteer JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK: Teen Takeover is a youth program at the Greenbelt Youth Center, where teens ages 12-17 participate in a variety of activities and events while connecting with peers within their community. Teen Takeover Committee Volunteers act as a voice for Teen Takeover participants to help guide the program, creating the best experience possible. The committee will have meetings and discuss matters such as the Teen Takeover schedule of activities, bigger events, field trips, community service opportunities, and more about the direction the program is heading and how we can continuously expand it to make it better for you and everyone else involved. Committee members will gain direct experience supporting and developing the Teen Takeover program. This is an unpaid position but volunteers are eligible to receive student learning service hours for time dedicated to the program. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Willing to do work outside of Teen Takeover and meetings. Be responsible and complete the duties delegated to them. Effectively communicate information and instructions to others. Be a role model through your attitude and behavior. Offer different ideas and perspectives on how to improve the overall program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience: Must be between 13 to 18 years old. Must be available from the months of August 2026 to June 2027. Must be available to volunteer at least 3 hours on non-event weeks and at least 15 hours leading up to events (as needed). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Maturity and a strong work ethic. Must be a “team player” exhibiting flexibility. NOTE: This class specification should not be interpreted as all inclusive.
