Join our team and help support the retirement of legacy telecommunications infrastructure across carrier networks throughout California.
We are seeking experienced Telecom Decommissioning Technicians to perform mission-critical decommissioning activities within live carrier environments including Central Offices (COs), carrier hotels, telecommunications facilities, and colocation sites. This position requires technicians who understand that protecting network integrity is the highest priority and that preventing service outages always takes precedence over completing a task.
The ideal candidate has experience working within carrier transport networks, is highly detail-oriented, can work independently, and communicates effectively with both customers and remote operations personnel.Responsibilities
Perform site surveys to locate and verify telecommunications equipment scheduled for decommissioning.
Identify equipment using Telecommunications Identifiers (TIDs) and client decommissioning software.
Verify equipment status prior to any decommissioning activity.
Measure and document DC/AC power readings using clamp meters.
Verify fiber activity using non-intrusive fiber clamp meters.
Document equipment location, fuse positions, cable routing, power readings, fiber status, and field observations.
Communicate with network operations whenever equipment status is unclear or appears active.
Perform authorized equipment power-down procedures.
Disconnect fiber, power, and Ethernet connections following successful decommissioning.
Apply required decommission labels and capture photographic documentation.
Coil and secure removed cabling in accordance with project standards.
Maintain accurate project documentation throughout all phases of work.
Follow all customer safety, security, and operational procedures.
Protect network integrity by following established procedures and stopping work whenever uncertainty exists.Required Skills
