Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Inventory Specialist

Velocity is seeking to hire a TEM Inventory Specialist. Velocity's Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date inventories of telecommunications assets and services-such as circuits, phone numbers (POTS/DID's), and carrier services-to support cost control, billing accuracy, and operational efficiency within Velocity''s TEM solutions. This is a full-time remote opportunity. The shift for this role is M-F 8am-5pm EST. This role reports directly into the Sr. Manager of TEM.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

• Maintain a centralized telecom inventory (circuits, phone numbers, devices, carrier services)
• Ensure inventory data aligns with carrier records and internal systems
• Perform regular inventory audits and reconciliations
• Strong understanding of vendor web portals and reporting

Expense Validation

• Support billing validation by ensuring invoices match active inventory
• Ensure contract expirations are maintained for all services
• Provide accurate inventory data to support chargeback models

Carrier & Vendor Coordination

Work with carriers and vendors to:

• Validate service records
• Resolve inventory discrepancies

Reporting & Data Integrity

Produce inventory reports for:

• Management, TEM Analysts and CSM Team
• Ensure high data quality within Velocity's Global Expense Management system

Onboarding and Offboarding

Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of accounts for customers

• New customers
• Existing customers

Process & Compliance Support

• Enforce telecom governance and inventory standards
• Document inventory processes and updates

• Mobile voice and data lines
• POTS
• Cable TV
• Wifi
• WAN/LAN circuits (MPLS, DIA, broadband, fiber)
• Cloud and UCaaS services
• Satellite
• Toll‑free and DID numbers
• Carrier contract expirations and service IDs

Skills & Qualifications:

Technical / Functional

• Telecom lifecycle knowledge (Voice & Data)
• TEM systems and telecom billing fundamentals
• Inventory reconciliation
• Excel / reporting tools (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)

Analytical & Organizational

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage high‑volume data accurately
• Root‑cause analysis for discrepancies
• Process improvement mindset

Soft Skills

• Clear documentation and communication
• Cross‑functional collaboration
• Vendor and carrier interaction professionalism

Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years hands on experience working in TEM platforms or related field
• BA degree or related work experience preferred
