Telecom Program Manager

Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid) or Remote
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months with high likelihood of conversion)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: Up to $55/hour (W2)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Telecom Program Manager to assess, redesign, and optimize our enterprise voice and fax infrastructure. This individual will lead efforts focused on reducing telecommunications costs, improving operational efficiency, increasing service reliability, and establishing long-term standards for telecom management.
 

Why This Role Is Open

The organization is undertaking a strategic initiative to assess and optimize its telecommunications and electronic fax environment. Leadership is looking for an experienced telecom professional to evaluate current carriers, vendors, contracts, systems, and operational processes while identifying opportunities to reduce costs, streamline services, improve efficiency, and support future-state telecommunications planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the current telephony and electronic fax environment, including carriers, vendors, contracts, infrastructure, and associated costs.
  • Analyze telecommunications and fax operations to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize contracts, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Evaluate EMR-integrated fax workflows to eliminate unnecessary fax traffic, routing issues, duplicate transmissions, and other process inefficiencies.
  • Develop governance standards, operational procedures, and strategic recommendations for telephony and fax management.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, IT, and vendor teams to implement process improvements and support optimization initiatives.
  • Review telecom invoices, carrier agreements, and utilization reports to identify spend reduction opportunities.
  • Lead telecommunications optimization initiatives and provide recommendations for future-state solutions.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in telecommunications, telephony engineering, telecom expense management, or unified communications.
  • Experience assessing and optimizing healthcare telephony and fax environments.
  • Strong understanding of electronic fax platforms, fax-to-email services, and EMR-integrated fax workflows.
  • Experience conducting telecommunications audits and identifying measurable cost savings.
  • Ability to analyze telecom invoices, carrier contracts, and utilization reports.
  • Experience with cloud telephony platforms and telecommunications modernization initiatives.
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance and operational requirements related to telecommunications.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
