Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Telecom Technician to support the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of telecom, radio, networking, and electronic security systems at a new industrial site. The technician will help maintain the CCTC/IP network, Motorola MOTOTRBO radio systems, PAGA, CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems. This is a field-based role requiring strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in an industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities

Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain telecom and electronic security equipment.
Maintain CCTC and underlying IP networks, including switches, routers, VLANs, and network connectivity.
Maintain and troubleshoot Motorola MOTOTRBO two-way radio systems.
Support PAGA/Public Address & General Alarm systems, including Federal Signal PAGASYS.
Install and maintain fiber-optic intrusion detection systems.
Support LenelS2 OnGuard access control and Milestone XProtect CCTV/VMS.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on telecom, radio, networking, and security systems.
Troubleshoot fiber, copper, IP, radio, CCTV, access control, and related field equipment.
Perform system testing, commissioning, equipment configuration, and documentation.
Support the transition of systems from the installation contractor to the permanent operations/maintenance team.
Respond to emergency issues and participate in on-call support when required.
Follow applicable site safety requirements and hazardous-area procedures.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience as a Telecom Technician, Communications Technician, Radio/RF Technician, Field Service Technician, Low Voltage/ELV Technician, or similar field role.
Experience installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting telecom or communications equipment.
Experience with Motorola MOTOTRBO or comparable two-way radio systems strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of IP networking, switches, routers, VLANs, static IP addressing, and subnetting.
Experience with fiber and copper cabling and field troubleshooting.
Experience with one or more of the following preferred:Federal Signal PAGASYS
FFT fiber-optic intrusion detection
LenelS2 OnGuard
Milestone XProtect
CCTV/video management systems
Access control and intrusion detection systems
Ability to work in an industrial/field environment and follow hazardous-area safety requirements.
CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking knowledge preferred.
Motorola MOTOTRBO, Federal Signal, FFT, LenelS2, or Milestone certifications are highly preferred.
Equivalent hands-on field experience may be considered in place of specific certifications, subject to approval.
Ability to work a 40-hour week with potential emergency/on-call support.
Ability to work in the Houston or Galveston, TX area and travel to the assigned site as required.
