Telecommunications Design Engineer Semiconductor and Data Center Projects About the Role

We are looking for a Telecommunications Systems Engineer excited about designing the systems that power the heart of our clients' business. You will own telecom scope on very large, complex projects, working alongside other telecom design professionals and supporting design staff to produce challenging design packages.

You will work within a single integrated design team, coordinating directly with architects and engineers across every discipline, and you will interface directly with client counterparts to design facilities that meet their needs.

What You Will Design

Our teams use AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create fully coordinated 3D models across all disciplines. Through a mix of full 3D BIM delivery, construction specifications, and 2D sheets, you will help lead the design of:

  • Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure

  • Inter-building and intra-building backbone distribution systems

  • Communication room layouts and rack elevations

  • Wired and wireless device plans

  • Cable schedules

All designs and calculations follow the NEC, applicable TIA standards, and applicable client and project specifications.

What You Need
  • Two-year technical degree or four-year non-technical degree

  • 4+ years of experience in the telecommunications design and construction industry

  • Working knowledge of TIA standards and BICSI design practices

  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements

  • Experience leading a telecommunications design team

  • Knowledge of design and construction specifications

  • Experience estimating and scheduling small to medium projects

Nice to Have
  • 3+ years of telecom design experience in semiconductor or data center facilities

  • One or more of these certifications: RCDD, DCDC, OSP, or RTPM

  • Project management experience

  • Working knowledge of Revit or other 3D BIM software

  • Design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems

  • Knowledge of control systems and network topology

Compensation details: 38-53 Hourly Wage
