As a Telecommunications Designer with us, you will design Outside Plant Pathways and other building systems including MMR/IDF layouts, Cable Tray layouts, Wireless Access Point layouts, and structured Cabling infrastructure layout to support the Controls Network.Your ImpactWork independently to perform a variety of BIM/CAD design assignments supporting multiple engineering disciplinesProduce accurate 2D drawings, 3D BIM Models using Revit or equivalent BIM programDesign low voltage systems for buildings including telecommunications systems, audio visual, security, and electrical/mechanical control integrationsMeet required schedules while producing quality workPerform Quality Assurance/Quality Control of design packagesPerform design tasks for site and building technologies including telecommunications systems, audio visual, security, and control integrationsIndependently support the team during design and construction stages of projectsResearch & recommend fundamental components identified in designsDevelop equipment, conveyance and device layouts, floor plan, and riser diagramsPrepare cable schedules and specificationsPerform construction administrations tasksSurvey and evaluate existing conditionsWork within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building ownersDemonstrate significant understanding of the range of services provided by the kW MCE engineering and design teams & related practicesImplement best practice proceduresIntegrate project requirements into mission critical facility designsAttend and represent the Telecom discipline in internal and client facing meetingsLead Telecom design team on projectsMentor and lead junior designersWho You AreThe ideal candidate is highly experienced in Revit and AutoCAD and has experience in information and communications technology. Strong communication skills, and an interest in liaising with internal and external design, client and construction team members are also necessary.Required Qualifications5-7 years of experience designing low voltage systems for high performing commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center buildingsBachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experienceExperience with applicable software packages including AutoCAD, RevitExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail, highly organized, self-starter?Ability to travel to project sitesProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesPreferred QualificationsMission Critical/Data Center experienceExperience with international projectsRCDD and/or DCDC certifications#J-18808-Ljbffr
