Job DescriptionLS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer with technical expertise in enterprise network telecommunications systems and services to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at FAA facilities across the USA and its territories. The person filling this position will be part of a large FAA team responsible for the oversight, coordination, and planning for the migration of thousands of telecommunications circuits carrying critical FAA Air Traffic Control services from legacy infrastructure to new and modernized infrastructure, meeting the demands of the digital era.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions may include (but are not limited to) the following:Assist FAA Telecommunications Managers and Subject Matter Experts in the activation and migration of critical FAA services to a new and modernized telecommunications infrastructure.Provides scientific, engineering, project installation, cutover, tracking, coordination, and other technical support for the Conversion Appliance System Service (CASS) at sites impacted by vendor discontinuances and the NAS modernization effort.Project EvaluationTechnical documentation and data reviewKnowledge and ability to navigate FAA system and telecommunications databases such as FSEP and TEMTProgram/Implementation plan and policy development supportSite/SSC/Vendor Coordination & IntegrationIndependent Test and EvaluationService Acceptance & Cutover procedure knowledgeStatus reporting and metrics development.Technical & Impact analysisRequired QualificationsA Successful Candidate Will Have:FAA / DoD experience in telecommunications infrastructure / campus environments preferred.Experience in telecommunications standards and terminology including LTE/4G/5G, VoIP, IP, Cloud, Carrier Ethernet, Pseudowire, and GPS network timing protocol.Experience delivering enterprise networking protocols, firewalls, edge protection, gateways, and fiber optics cabling and equipment.Experience and/or ability to manage and track large scale telecommunications projects and schedules.Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, and project management skills, as well as highly professional written and oral communication skills and advanced analytical skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and KSN/SharePoint.Strong attention to detail, well organized, and ability to self-prioritize multiple activities.Ability to effectively initiate actions, collaborate with others, and drive action items to resolution.x years of experience performing xBachelor's degree and 11+ years of relevant experienceWork Location: RemotePosition is: Remote with travelWork Hours: 8.00 AM - 4.30 PM ESTTravel: 30%Background check: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance, which requires US Citizenship.Physical Requirements:Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.Work Environment/Environmental Factors:Primarily computer-based work; meetings or collaboration may be required.About LS TechnologiesAt LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, we're enhancing our nation's critical infrastructure by providing engineering, technical, and professional services to Federal Government agencies.
