    Description

    Telecommunications / Structured Cabling Estimator (Full-Time, On-Site)

    Location: DFW Metroplex
    Schedule: Monday–Friday (7am–4pm or 8am–5pm, On-Site)
    Employment Type: Full-Time

    The Opportunity
A leading communications infrastructure firm in the DFW area is seeking a Structured Cabling Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This role is responsible for owning the full estimating process on assigned pursuits—from initial bid documents through final proposal submission.

This is a hands-on, production-focused position where the expectation is to deliver complete, accurate, and competitive estimates across commercial, enterprise, and data center projects.

This is not a plug-and-play estimating role. The right candidate will be able to read drawings and identify scope, risk, and opportunity with confidence.

The organization will provide training on internal tools and processes. However, candidates must already have a strong foundation in structured cabling systems, components, and installation practices.

What You Will DoEstimating & Takeoff
    • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction documents for structured cabling and low voltage systems, including:
      • Copper (Cat6, Cat6A, Cat8)
      • Fiber (OS2, OM3/OM4, MPO/MTP)
      • Wireless infrastructure, AV, access control, and related systems
    • Build complete estimates using Procore Estimating (or comparable platforms)
    • Apply labor, material pricing, and markups in accordance with company standards
    • Develop accurate, procurement-ready bills of material
    • Identify scope gaps, conflicts, and coordination requirements
    Bid Management
    • Manage bids from invitation through submission using BuildingConnected or similar platforms
    • Track deadlines, addenda, and drawing revisions
    • Attend pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs as needed
    • Solicit and incorporate vendor/supplier pricing
    • Prepare scope letters, exclusions, and clarifications for submission
    • Coordinate final pricing reviews prior to submission
    Collaboration & Execution Support
    • Partner with internal preconstruction leadership on larger pursuits
    • Communicate proactively with GC preconstruction teams
    • Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoffs
    • Support project teams during buyout and early-stage execution
    • Ensure estimates align with real-world installation and project delivery plans

      • Pathways, spaces, and cable management
