Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Telecommunications Estimator. They will be responsible for supporting telecommunication project teams in preparing cost estimates for bids and proposals. This is a direct placement role on-site at Tysons Corner, Virginia. This is a great opportunity to join rapidly expanding work in the NOVA region.
Responsibilities for the Telecommunications Estimator:
- Gathering data and assisting in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, project specifications and project schedule.
- Performing take-offs from drawings; pricing change orders and conducting site visits to understand the constructability of projects.
- Understanding plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Required Qualifications for the Telecommunications Estimator:
- 2-3 years' experience working in the Communications field with added experience in low voltage systems preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience working on estimates and proposal development.
- Familiarity with communications and low voltage equipment, materials, and specifications.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, specifications, and other bid documents.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.
- Experience with estimating software and preforming labor and material takeoffs.
- AccuBid experience preferred.
Compensation for the Telecommunications Estimator:
- Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
