What you’ll do
Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling.
Handle fiber optics from end to end—fusion splicing and performance testing included.
Install pathway and support systems: cable tray, ladder rack, backboards, sleeves, and J-hooks.
Execute compliant firestopping wherever required by code.
Install and splice high-pair copper backbone cable.
Test and certify structured cabling systems using Fluke DSX-8600 testers and OTDR equipment.
Interpret drawings/specifications and translate them into clean, dependable installations.
Document work and maintain accurate test reports.
Perform site surveys to plan efficient cable routes.
Maintain tidy, secure, and organized job sites.
Communicate clearly with project managers, customers, and other trades.
What you’ll bring
3+ years in commercial low-voltage installation.
Experience with structured cabling and fiber optic systems.
Blueprint/construction drawing literacy.
Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards and industry best practices.
Hands-on experience with Fluke certification equipment.
BICSI or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs; comfortable on ladders and lifts.
