Are you ready to build and maintain the networks that keep our communities connected?
At Blue Ridge Energy, we're looking for a skilled Telecommunications Network Technician to join our Communications Technology team. In this role, you'll be hands-on with cutting-edge fiber-optic and RF networks-installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the systems that power critical communications for our members and customers.
What You'll Do
You'll play a key role in keeping our network strong, reliable, and growing. Your day-to-day may include:
- Installing, splicing, terminating, and testing fiber-optic and RF networks (OSP, ISP, commercial, and residential)
- Diagnosing and resolving network issues to ensure optimal performance
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics for efficient project execution
- Documenting all work to support compliance and future planning
- Managing materials and recommending system upgrades
- Coordinating with contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies
- Delivering excellent customer service, including technical support and training
- Following all safety standards and industry best practices
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a strong commitment to safety and service:
- Associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or related field (preferred)
(Relevant experience or training may substitute) - 3+ years of experience in fiber optic installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of fiber splicing, testing, and network systems
- Familiarity with GIS, CAD, or mapping tools (a plus)
- Ability to work in a variety of environments-indoors, outdoors, and at heights
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record
(Class B CDL or willingness to obtain is a plus) - Willingness to obtain a North Carolina Notary Public commission

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(Occasional evenings/weekends as needed) - Work Environment: Hands-on, field-based work in varying conditions throughout our service area
