A day in the life

You’ll start by receiving shipments: safely unloading containers, sorting telecommunications cable, and constructing precise bundles on pallets. You’ll weigh each bundle/pallet, record the weight, label accurately, and put materials away in designated locations. Throughout the day, you’ll operate a forklift to move product for both inbound and outbound activity, retrieve finished goods for shipping, and stage or load trucks at the dock.

What you’ll tackle

• Receiving: unload, sort, bundle cable, weigh and document, then store to assigned locations
• Shipping: pick from storage, transport to the shipping dock, and load outbound trucks
• Inventory control: assist with physical counts; verify system vs. floor quantities
• Documentation: complete inbound/outbound protocols to ensure inventory accuracy
• Paperwork: confirm freight matches shipping and receiving documents
• Scheduling: review appointment schedules to plan daily activity
• Quality & organization: maintain clear labeling and orderly storage
• Process discipline: follow work instructions and the employee handbook
• Safety & security: adhere to safety guidelines, strict cable custody protocols, and safeguard equipment and cable to prevent injury or damage
• Compliance: consistently follow environmental regulations and labor laws
• Teamwork: support a clean, collaborative work area

Schedule, pay, and path

• Shifts: 1st and 2nd shift options (some Saturdays for overtime)
• Pay: $19.00 per hour
• Type: Contract-to-hire based on attendance, attitude, and client needs
• Benefits upon permanent hire: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and paid vacation

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or GED
• Forklift/heavy machinery experience or completion of a relevant apprenticeship is a plus
• Sound judgment to resolve routine issues and escalate complex ones to leadership
• Calm, steady execution when instructions must be followed under pressure
• Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift/pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to complete a physical fitness test
