Position Summary:

The Telemedicine Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational management, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the hospital's telemedicine program. This position oversees daily program operations, provider scheduling, equipment management, regulatory compliance, vendor relationships, reporting, and quality performance.

The Coordinator serves as the central operational resource for all telemedicine services and works collaboratively with hospital leadership, medical staff, information technology, finance, and external telemedicine partners.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education:

Requires a high school diploma with an emphasis in Office Occupation and Administrative Skills or a GED state certification.  An Associate’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience:

Requires three to five years of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Requires detailed knowledge of MS office suite.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Coordinate daily telemedicine operations.
  • Develop and maintain program workflows.
  • Ensure efficient program implementation.

Provider Coordination

  • Schedule specialty physician coverage.
  • Coordinate telemedicine clinic schedules.
  • Manage provider availability.
  • Coordinate credentialing with Medical Staff Services.

Operational Oversight

  • Coordinate inpatient and outpatient telemedicine services.
  • Monitor daily telemedicine utilization.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Ensure equipment availability.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs.

Technology Coordination

  • Collaborate with Information Technology.
  • Coordinate equipment installation.
  • Monitor system functionality.
  • Ensure software updates are completed.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain telemedicine policies.
