Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Telemetry Float Pool experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: - Travelers must have 2-3 years of experience. - Nurses must have experience with drips. - Nurses must be able to read telemetry strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - Chest tube experience preferred.
Special Requests: - Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Unit Details: - The patient population is very sick/high acuity and includes pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath-lab patients, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD. - At St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital, common diagnoses include postsurgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients. - Ratios at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital are 1:5 for med-surg, 1:4 for telemetry, and 1:3 for DOU. - Philips telemetry monitors are used; monitor techs read strips, and nurses read and sign off on them. - Common non-titrating drips include amiodarone, Cardizem, and heparin. - Patients may require BiPAP or CPAP; no ventilator patients are expected at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. - The unit involves a lot of primary care nursing; resources are limited and nurses may be very busy. - There is no IV team; respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7. - Hospitalist coverage is in-house, with after-hours coverage; the hospitalist is shared between St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (nights: Friday, Saturday, Sunday; days: Saturday, Sunday). - Holiday requirement: one major and one minor holiday. - Self-scheduling at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital is available but not guaranteed.
Floating Requirements: - The clinician will be first to float. - The position is based at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and requires floating to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital, 9 miles away. - The clinician will float to 3 North or 2 South, and to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital to work telemetry or med-surg; the clinician may also float to the ER to take med-surg/telemetry holds. - At St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital, the ACU floats between med-surg and telemetry; travelers will not work the DOU.
Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
