Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry provides specialized, patient-centered nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized care, monitors cardiac rhythms, administers medications and treatments, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Current BLS certification required.

• ACLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.

• Recent Telemetry, Progressive Care, Medical Surgical, or acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for telemetry patients.

• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing and reporting significant changes.

• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately.

• Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and response to treatment.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.

• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.

• Float to other units as assigned based on competency and patient care needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
