Telemetry Technician

Pay Rate: $38 - $45/hr

Summary:

• Shift: 7:00AM - 7:30PM
• Must have telemetry tech experience on a pediatric unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Must have an active telemetry tech certification

Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation.
• Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes and initiate codes.
• Record rhythms during codes and perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Troubleshoot monitoring problems and respond appropriately to all monitor alarms.
• Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings, including proper electrode placement.
• Communicate appropriately and clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
• Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
• Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse.
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies.
• Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross.
• Dysrhythmia Course.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
