Shift: 6:45 PM - 6:45 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently. Must be willing to precept. 2+ years of experience preferred; 1 year may be considered if comfortable and confident.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Neuro and cardiac experience is preferred but is not a deal breaker.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered. Block scheduling is allowed.

Unit Details: Uses Meditech. This assignment is for an Epic conversion starting 10/30. Common diagnoses and patient types include cardiac/telemetry patients, CHF, 24 post-CABG, Watchman cases, dysrhythmias, EP cases, and some medical telemetry; patients move off the floor when they no longer require telemetry. RNs use set-rate drips only and are not required to titrate drips. Common drips include Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine. Patients may use home-regimen CPAP and BiPAP.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is allowed, but it is not finalized until balanced by the manager. Weekend requirements include 6 weekend shifts (every other weekend) in a 6-week period; day shifts are Saturday/Sunday and night shifts are Friday/Saturday. Holiday requirements include 2 major holidays (eve and day for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) and 2 minor holidays; holiday coverage will be assigned where there is a need. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 per week may be considered if 48 per week cannot be worked.

Floating Requirements: Most of the time, floating will be within the three monitor pods (Tele, Tele-Observation, and Tele-Neuro Stroke), with occasional floating to Med-Surg. The clinician may float to a higher-acuity floor while caring only for telemetry patients. Travelers are first to float. May float between the Bryan campus (home base) and the College Station campus (16 minutes apart) as needed.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
