Job Description
Our Teller I serves as the face of the bank, providing excellent customer service while performing routine banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check cashing. This entry-level role is foundational to understanding the bank's operations and is designed for individuals looking to grow within the retail banking environment.Key Responsibilities
- Process routine financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Balance cash drawer daily and verify end-of-day totals.
- Identify potential fraud or unusual account activity.
- Refer customers to appropriate bank services and staff.
- Assist with night depository duties and ATM errors.
- Promote bank products and services when appropriate.
- Follow all bank policies and procedures, including compliance requirements.
- Complete training on phone procedures and call queue system; consistently log in, answer incoming calls professionally, directing or transfer callers to the appropriate department or team member.
- Assist customers with basic online banking inquiries such as password resets, account navigation, and troubleshooting common login issues.
- Greet customers promptly and professionally; provide excellent service.
- Participate in branch opening/closing procedures and maintain branch security standards.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months of teller experience or 1 year of related customer service and cash handling experience.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Effective communication and time management abilities.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts and maintain punctual attendance.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
