Qualifications:
  • High school degree or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 5 years’ experience Purchasing, negotiating, price discount schedules, and budgets preferred
  • Strong skills in using SAP, including MRP systems required Demonstrated abilities in communication, organization, and persuasion are essential.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented Strong in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing actions

Responsibilities:
  • The Junior Buyer supports procurement functions.
  • This role contributes to efficient sourcing and purchasing of MRO, packaging, and other materials, helping drive cost-effective resource management.
  • By managing purchasing processes and supporting strategic initiatives, this role is essential to maintaining operational excellence across the site.
  • Oversees all MRO purchasing processes for the San Diego site, including managing quotes, bid waivers, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Responsibilities also include placing purchase orders for capital expenditures, supporting the reconciliation of goods receipts with invoices, and actively participating in daily planning meetings.
  • Monitors supplier performance, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.
  • Proactively identifies alternate sources to enhance supply chain resilience and expedites orders to mitigate delays.
  • Vendor reports are regularly reviewed to ensure order fulfillment and to address any discrepancies.
  • Collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to support product launches and execution plans.
  • Additionally, works with the Supply Chain team to ensure accuracy in packaging cycle counts.
