Description

Job Title: Temp Buyer
Pay Rate: $28/hr.
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: Approved until 11/30/2026 could extend based on business needs
Shift: M-F 1^st Shift 8am-4:30pm (30-minute lunch)

Qualifications:

High school degree or general education degree (GED) required.
5 years experience Purchasing, negotiating, price discount schedules, and budgets preferred
Strong skills in using SAP, including MRP systems required
Demonstrated abilities in communication, organization, and persuasion are essential.
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Strong in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing actions
Demonstrated abilities in communication, organization, and persuasion are essential.
Dedicated, self-starter, high degree of motivation

Responsibilities:

The Junior Buyer supports procurement functions.
This role contributes to efficient sourcing and purchasing of MRO, packaging, and other materials, helping drive cost-effective resource management.
By managing purchasing processes and supporting strategic initiatives, this role is essential to maintaining operational excellence across the site.
Oversees all MRO purchasing processes for the San Diego site, including managing quotes, bid waivers, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities also include placing purchase orders for capital expenditures, supporting the reconciliation of goods receipts with invoices, and actively participating in daily planning meetings.
Monitors supplier performance, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery. Proactively identifies alternate sources to enhance supply chain resilience and expedites orders to mitigate delays.
Vendor reports are regularly reviewed to ensure order fulfillment and to address any discrepancies.
Collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to support product launches and execution plans.
Additionally, works with the Supply Chain team to ensure accuracy in packaging cycle counts.
