    Job Summary

    The Tech Temp Cycle Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging fitness classes at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center. The instructor will work with a diverse community of students, staff, and members to provide high-quality fitness instruction in a welcoming and inclusive environment. This position offers a great opportunity for experienced fitness professionals to inspire and motivate others to achieve their health and fitness goals. This position reports to the Fitness Coordinator. Per policy, employment in this Tech Temp role is limited to 1,300 hours within a 12-month period. Parking is not covered by the employer.

    Responsibilities

    Job Duty 1 -

    Directly oversee the Officials Development Program, which includes hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluating of on-field/court performance of intramural student officials.

    Job Duty 2 -

    Provide guidance, support, and oversight for Sport Clubs and the Sport Club Executive Council to

    include leadership initiatives.

    Job Duty 3 -

    Assist with day-to-day operations of the Tech Wreck Summer and Break Camps

    Job Duty 4 -

    Oversee the hiring and payroll for all student employees for Competitive Sport.

    Job Duty 5 -

    Ensure all Competitive Sports activities are following Georgia Tech and CRC risk management

    guidelines.

    Job Duty 6 -

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and teach indoor cycle group fitness classes. Additional modalities and fusion classes are welcomed.
    • Tailor class formats and intensity levels to accommodate participants of varying fitness levels and abilities.
    • Ensure participant safety by providing modifications, using proper techniques, and maintaining awareness of emergency procedures.
    • Engage participants by fostering an inclusive, encouraging environment while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
    • Set up and maintain equipment before and after each class, ensuring a clean and safe workout area.
    • Stay current with fitness trends and continuously improve teaching skills through workshops and certifications.
    • Comply with Georgia Tech and Campus Recreation Center policies and safety guidelines.

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    Bachelors degree required in recreation, college student personnel, sports management, or related field.

    Required Experience

    Two or more years of experience supervising or advising student leaders and experience with a Higher Education Officials Development Program.

    Masters degree preferred

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Current indoor cycling certification (Schwinn, SWERVE, Keiser, etc.)
    • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate participants in a positive, supportive manner.
