Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT/CLS) from an accredited certifying agency.
  • Proficiency in conducting chemical analyses of various body fluids including blood, urine, spinal, and gastric fluids.
  • Experience with microscopy, blood typing, and compatibility testing.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment such as analyzers, spectrophotometers, and other diagnostic instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience working night shifts.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of quality control and assurance procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience, especially in a clinical setting.
  • Certification from recognized agencies such as ASCP, AMT, or NCA.

Other Requirements:
  • Valid medical laboratory certification.
  • Ability to work night hours, with flexibility for potential schedule needs.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate for specialized training or equipment if necessary.
