What You'll Do:
  • Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders to develop personalized care plans.
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to deliver effective interventions.
  • Provide skilled, medically necessary treatments including ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device support.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatments as needed to ensure optimal recovery.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes, modify services, and make referrals based on patient response.
  • Offer consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy plans and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team about patient status and treatment strategies.
  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic records.
  • Participate in care conferences, clinical meetings, and ongoing training to continually enhance your professional skills.
  • Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, or students when applicable.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, clinical, and ethical standards set by NBCOT, state, and federal guidelines.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license per state requirements (OK).
  • Proven experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient documentation skills within electronic health record systems.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience supervising therapy assistants or students.
  • Familiarity with DME procurement and supplies management.
  • Bilingual abilities or additional language skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current NBCOT certification.
  • Prior experience in long-term care environments is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to travel within the healthcare facility or community as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining licensure and certifications.
  • Flexibility to work in a daytime schedule.
