What Youll Do
Support clinical interventions by providing rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatments to patients with cognitive or physical functioning disorders, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic activities, modalities, and supportive/assistive device use.
Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising OT to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Document treatments, patient progress, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members regarding cognitive and physical health.
Participate in care conferences, trainings, and team meetings as required.
Support and supervise students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Adhere to professional standards, including NBCOT/AOTA practice acts, codes of conduct, and state regulations.
What You Need
Required:
Active State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Preferred:
Experience working with patients with cognitive and/or physical disorders
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
