Responsibilities :
Provide skilled, rehabilitative, and medically necessary treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
Provide ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices.
Monitor patient progress and communicate with the supervising OT regarding treatment adjustments.
Report treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Educate and consult with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records in the electronic documentation system.
Accurately record treatment minutes in accordance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
Participate in patient care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, utilization reviews, trainings, in-services, and other required meetings.
Assist with obtaining necessary DME and supplies in collaboration with the supervising OT.
Support and supervise OTA students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
Follow all applicable NBCOT, AOTA, and Massachusetts practice standards, ethics, and regulations.
1+ year of OTA experience – Required
LTC or Rehab experience – Required
Active COTA license/registration in Massachusetts – Required
