DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT:
This is a non-exempt, part-time/temporary position limited to 1300 hours annually. Under supervision of the Program Coordinator - Park Ranger, this position provides education of and ensures compliance with City ordinances, rules, and regulations. Patrols Parks properties and enforces laws and Parks ordinances and promotes park safety. Provides assistance and information to park visitors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the knowledge, skills and abilities the position requires:
High school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency, or higher education.
At least one year of enforcement or security experience which demonstrates the ability to investigate and enforce ordinances, rules and regulations.
A valid driver's license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of employment
License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license
Must be at least 21 years of age at time of application.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The required drivers license must be maintained throughout the term of employment. Failure to maintain drivers license will result in termination.
Individual will be exposed to various and extreme weather conditions for periods of more than one hour throughout the work day. Position involves extensive walking while patrolling Parks and recreation facilities. Individual may encounter hostile or irate persons. Individual must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Due to Federal and State Criminal Justice System access requirements, classifications that access and maintain criminal justice information may also be required, as a condition of employment, to not have been convicted of and/or have pending charges of a felony or misdemeanor crime that would deny or otherwise restrict access to criminal justice information. This requirement applies to all existing City employees as well as external candidates seeking to fill positions that meet the given criteria.

City of Pueblo Temporary and Seasonal Employee Sick Leave Benefits
Beginning January 1, 2021, all employers in Colorado are required to provide paid sick leave to employees under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act ("HFWA"). Said leave is accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours.
Per the Act, leave may be used for any of the following reasons:
Consistent with the HWFA, part-time temporary and seasonal employees of the City shall not carry forward more than forty-eight (48) hours of unused sick leave from one year to the next.
