What You'll Do:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status using formal and informal testing.
Develop goal-specific treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and tolerances, and implement them effectively.
Collaborate with physicians to submit detailed treatment regimens, update plans of care as patient conditions evolve, and co-sign verbal orders when necessary.
Design customized treatment schedules, coordinating with patients, families, and clinical support staff to ensure optimal care.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment options, prognosis, and self-care strategies to promote recovery and independence.
Required Skills:
Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist
Proven experience in outpatient physical therapy
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with pediatric or geriatric populations
Knowledge of the latest physical therapy modalities and interventions
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelors or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Prior outpatient therapy experience preferred
Licensure in Michigan or eligibility to obtain licensure there
Other Requirements:
CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Ability to work daytime shifts on a temporary basis
