MICU
(Medical Intensive Care Unit)

• 
  
• Definition:
  A specialized subunit of the ICU focused strictly on internal medicine and
  non-surgical diseases.
• 
  
• Patients:
  Treats people with severe infections (sepsis), acute respiratory failure,
  diabetic emergencies, poisonings, or severe organ dysfunction.
• 
  
• Focus:
  Managing complex internal illnesses using ventilators, continuous drug
  infusions (like vasopressors), and aggressive medical therapy rather than
  surgeries.

Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD/DURING INTERVIEW WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).

Travelers may not take all holidays off. MUST work TWO blocks (if scheduled/needed):

Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and weekend after
Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and weekend after
New Year Eve through New Year Day and weekend after

• 3+ years CURRENT MICU experience - [Required]
• Current Vent experience [Required]
• EPIC EMR experience - [HIGHLY Preferred]
• Previous Travel - [Preferred]
• Perm address of traveler must be included in profile
• Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
• Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer/at interview. Please obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer
